Editions (same numbers as the updates page, listed for the cart)

• OpenFront — $4.99 — one month of Warlord, unique cosmetics, verified name, custom patterns, offline play, trusted account status.
• OpenFront Masters — $9.99 — one month of Sovereign, cosmetics you do not get on the base edition, plus everything in $4.99.

Neither SKU sells troop cap, SAM range, or MIRV discount. If a store comment claims otherwise, ignore it and keep gold costs as the price of warheads.

Wishlist, platforms, cross-play

Wishlist on the store page. Platforms listed: Windows, macOS, Linux, Steam Deck. Cross-play with the browser uses the same account and the same matches. Ranked 2v2 partners can be one Steam client and one Chrome tab. Offline play is a Steam-client feature; public FFA still needs a connection.

The browser stays free. Buying Masters does not remove openfront.io. Skipping Steam does not lock you out of v33 Doomsday Clock, Ranked 2v2, or the 22 maps — those are v33 browser patch features.

How this page relates to the browser

Think of Steam as another door into the same building. The building is the match: ~80% non-fallout land, Cities at +250k cap, Port/Factory shared counter, keys 1–0. The door is an install with overlay, achievements, preloaded assets, and optional cosmetics. If you only ever use the browser, you are not on a second-class ruleset.

Community store discussion belongs on Discord and r/Openfront, not as vandalism on this URL list. If you want the trailer and the longer Early Access essay, leave this page and open Steam Early Access. If you want humans, open Discord and community. If you want the one-paragraph definition, open What Is OpenFront.

Store minimums versus a live FFA

The Steam page lists a 64-bit dual-core class machine, 4 GB RAM, and about 1 GB of disk for Windows, macOS, and Linux. That is enough to install. It is not a promise that Sol or World at 200 players will feel like Gibraltar. The v33 performance pass (memory and late-game frame time) still matters more than the SKU you bought. If a laptop struggles in the browser, the Steam preload can help; if the CPU is the bottleneck, Masters cosmetics will not.

Family sharing and regional store copy can differ from this wiki. Trust the cart on Steam for payment, refunds, and region pricing. Trust this wiki for OpenFront combat numbers. If those two disagree about a troop formula, the gold cost tables and v33 win.

If you buy the client for offline bots, you still need the same first-match habits as the web queue: spawn on plains, hold the 42% troop curve, and spend the first 125k on a City before a vanity Silo. Those habits are in Getting Started and How to Play, not in the Steam overlay. Achievements can track wins; they cannot tell you whether a Port or a Factory should take the next shared cost step — that decision is still the buildings guide and the gold costs tool.
